Road Companion for iPhone
Privacy Policy
In short: Road Companion collects no data. Camera frames are processed on your iPhone and discarded. Nothing is sent to any server. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Who we are
Road Companion is published by KUZEY VIP PROMOSYON BILISIM SANAYI VE TICARET LIMITED SIRKETI. For any privacy question, write to support@caliptic.com.
The camera
While tracking is on, Road Companion uses the front camera of your iPhone. On iPhones with Face ID it uses the TrueDepth camera, which works with infrared light.
Each frame is processed in memory on your iPhone and discarded right away. From a frame the app takes only a few numbers, such as how open your eyelids are, how long a blink lasts and, in sunglasses mode, the tilt of your head. These numbers are used in the moment to decide whether to warn you.
No photo or video is saved. Frames are never sent anywhere and are not used to identify you.
What is stored on your iPhone
At the end of a trip the app saves a trip summary: driving time, warnings and breaks. The summary is stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. The app never sends it anywhere.
Deleting the app deletes the summaries. If you back up your iPhone, iOS may include app data in your own backup; we have no access to it.
What the app does not do
- It does not create an account or ask for your name, email or phone number.
- It contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and no third-party code that collects data.
- It does not request your location.
- It does not send anything to any server. It works in airplane mode.
Phone calls and notifications
To switch warnings to vibration only during a phone call, the app checks on your iPhone whether a call is in progress. It does not learn who you are talking to or what is said.
If the app goes to the background, tracking stops and the app shows a notification to tell you. This notification is created on your iPhone.
Google Maps
When you tap the rest-area button, the app opens Google Maps with a search for rest areas. The app does not pass your location. From then on, Google's privacy policy applies to what you do in Google Maps: policies.google.com/privacy.
Purchases
Road Companion is a paid app. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Third parties
No third party receives any data from the app, because the app does not collect or send any.
Children
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete. The trip summaries on your iPhone are under your control and are removed when you delete the app.
